Due to a planned database life-cycle upgrade, University of Utah and University of Utah Health IT services, applications, and websites that require central authentication service (CAS), Shibboleth, SailPoint, and Grouper authentication protocols will be unavailable for five minutes or less on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, between 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. This maintenance is necessary to keep university systems current, running efficiently, and secure.

Due to a planned database life-cycle upgrade, the BI prod (BIPR) database and its constituent databases will be unavailable on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
UIT is in the process of migrating all university databases from existing Oracle Exadata hardware to a new, modernized Exadata platform. This maintenance is necessary to keep University of Utah systems current, running efficiently, and secure.

On Friday-Saturday, May 8-9, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Avaya users will be unable to access Verint call recordings due to planned system maintenance. Calls received during the maintenance event will be recorded and available for playback after the maintenance is complete. Additionally, users will be unable to access schedules and the Avaya Workforce Optimization (WFO) portal.
This quarterly upgrade to the Verint call recording system was previously scheduled for May 1-2 but has been rescheduled.
To report Verint issues after the maintenance event, open a “high” urgency ticket by calling the UIT Help Desk at 801-581-4000 or ITS Service Desk at 801-587-6000.
